Teaching philosophy – EPHE

My teaching philosophy is still very undeveloped and draws from a lot of new information. I think my main influences have come from constructivism and in specific Vygotsky’s Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) which I researched as part of an educational inquiry (you can see a graphic below I made to represent the ZPD). The slides from the inquiry can be found using the link (EDCI 302 inquiry slides (1)).

My teaching philosophy has also evolved from my Ed Psych class to focus a lot on motivation and Non-Violent Communication (NVC) specifically the ‘circle of courage’ which divides motivation into four categories: Independence, mastery, generosity, and belonging. (a mind map I made representing motivation can be seen as the ‘featured image’). Non-Violent Communication to me is an important focus for anti-bullying. Below I have linked a series of videos that educated me on NVC.
